Kia Is Only Kidding Itself

ESPN has been bombarding me with this Kia commercial during the Confederations Cup. The implication is that this woman was an “overlooked’ member of the class of 1993. If she graduated high school in 1993, she’d be 38. Does anyone think this woman is 38?

I understand that Kia wants me to think that their brand has evolved from that of a manufacturer of shit on wheels. But rather than positioning itself as an automobile brand transformed, this ridiculous ad only positions Kia as an automobile brand of false promise.
